It´s okay, but a little bit expensive. Also you have to pay extra for the most beautiful church ... maybe better to just look around outside of the open air museum. Full review by Marko T

It's truly an amazing place, especially for religion... I learned so much about Christianity and a lot of it was new to me. Full review by Jeroen T

Walking is not terribly difficult you might want to consider a hiking stick just for added stability if you or a fellow traveler is not surefooted. A car is a plus and will make you much more flexible. Honestly sidewalks and streets in most cities are more difficult to navigate. We live in Turkey and feel very safe especially a place like Goreme. Keep in mind that on Easter is the referendum vote which is a day to stay close to home and avoid crowds. Also if you get a guide in Goerme you end up at the carpet factory and an hour long sales pitch and at the pottery factory and a sales pitch it is better to get some good guide books and do it on your own. We stayed in the Nostalgia cave hotel and were very happy. A recent traveler booked a hotel and was shuffled to a different hotel due on construction in the booked hotel- don't let them pull that trick on you unless you view the new room first and agree to staying there.
