I did not feel unsafe on the stairs. They had handrails on both sides and were made of structural steel with grating for treads, They were not steep. The stairs are only used after existing the canyon, and most of the walking was downhill.
Q:
Why some tours in the Antelope Canyon say they are not suitable for people over 5 feet 9 inches
A:
Probably a lawyer thing. Liability potential. Although I don’t see how. Most tall people can bend a bit when needed. Should not be a problem.
Q:
How far do you walk in the upper canyon. I have arthritis and can't walk real far.
A:
Talking to tour guide you need a special service.
Q:
What is restroom/washroom situation if needed once out on the tour?
A:
Portapotties are on site.
