Boost Mobile has announced it is on its way to meeting FCC coverage deadlines by the end of the year and says it has earned the title of MNO — Mobile Network Operator — rather than MVNO, which is a virtual network operator mainly reselling service from other carriers. Mission... accomplished? Sort of. It’s progress, at least.

Boost Mobile, a company by Dish Network that was acquired during the T-Mobile/Sprint merger, has been continuing to grow as the company says it now reaches 70% of America with its 5G coverage. A milestone that not only gives it bragging rights but also changes the way Dish Network sees itself as a company.

Boost Mobile has just announced that it’s on track to become a full-fledged carrier by the end of the year. Currently, the MVNO covers more than 70 percent of the US population with its 5G network, but Boost said it would cover 80 percent by the end of the year.
