Harris is up 50% to 45% over Trump in a Morning Consult survey conducted Wednesday of 3,317 likely voters, her widest lead yet in the group’s presidential election surveys and a slight improvement from her four-point lead in a survey taken on the day of the debate and from her three-point lead in pre-debate surveys.

“In Arizona and North Carolina, Trump lost a point, and Harris gained a point. Trump’s support stayed the same in Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while Harris’ support decreased by a point in Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, and stayed the same in Wisconsin. In Georgia, Trump gained two points and Harris lost two,” Kimball noted.

While it’s still early, there is enough initial polling to suggest that Harris’s strong debate performance did her some significant good.
