Monkey mayhem continues as 42 primates remain on the loose from a research facility in South Carolina. On Wednesday, 43 rhesus macaque primates escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in Yemassee.

More than half of the monkeys bred for medical research that escaped from a compound in South Carolina last week have now been recovered unharmed, officials said Sunday.

As of Sunday evening, 25 of the 43 furry runaways, that broke loose Wednesday from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in Yemasee, have now successfully been captured. "A sizable group remains active along the fence line and at this time have bedded down in the trees for the night," a spokesperson for the Yemassee Police Department said.
