Dale Earnhardt Jr. reflects on what may have been his final lap in the NASCAR Xfinity Series under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tennessee. Despite facing numerous communication issues, Earnhardt Jr. finished the race in a respectable seventh-place finish.

“I’m not planning on racing next year,” Earnhardt said of the Xfinity Series. “I’ll be foolish to say I’m never going to run again because I don’t know well enough to stay away from it, and I’ll probably miss it next year and be absolutely willing to sign up for anything that might be beneficial to JR Motorsports.”

Justin Allgaier entered Friday night’s Food City 300 with a 43-point advantage over Cole Custer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driver standings, but three accidents involving the JR Motorsports driver handed the regular season championship to the series defending title holder.
